Jakaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia)

The Children’s Tree near the Mwanza City Hall is a Jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia). The tree gives cure for malaria, stomach ache and artists use it for carvings. Children and youth from 17 schools sang, danced and drummed their joy for their tree.

The united water and soil were given to the roots of the Children’s Tree.
