The children themselves have chosen that specific tree. At the inauguration Municipal Commissioner Ms. Marianne Nordl\u00f6f held a speech. In a letter to the Globetree she later wrote: \u201c\u2026At the UN meeting in Nairobi last year a tree was inaugurated as a meeting place between decision makers and children. We in our community, thought that was a good idea and now we also have a tree we call \u201cThe Children\u2019s Tree\u201d.
