An old elm tree became a Globetree and a Children\u2019s Meeting Place in Vimmerby municipality the 5th of May. The famous author of children books Astrid Lindgren has climbed this elm tree and played there as a child. She called the tree The Lemonade Tree and is mentioned in her books. The inauguration ceremony was a special program at N\u00e4s, hosted by the Municipality of Vimmerby. The Swedish Minister of Youth Hon. Lena Hallengren officially inaugurated the Lemonade Tree to become a Globetree \u2013 a Children\u2019s Meeting Place \u2013 a place where politicians of Vimmerby will meet and dialogue with children twice a year. President of Globetree, Ms Kajsa Dahlstr\u00f6m told the story of the Children\u2019s Meeting Place \u2013 the assignment from United Nations and why it\u2019s important to meet under a tree to dialogue with children. Kajsa also presented the World Championship in Cooperation organised by Globetree in cooperation with the City Council of Stockholm. The Elm Tree will be called Globetree as Astrid Lindgren had a global concern for children and her books are translated to 95 languages. Our Uniting Water Ceremony marked the transformation of the Lemonade Tree to be a Globetree. The children handed over their united water and soil to the Guest of Honour, politicians and NGO\u2019s concerned with children in Vimmerby.
